We have embarked on a quest to modernize our BI Data Platform! We are looking for an energetic person who has a passion for both traditional and modern technologies and would be keen to help us deliver them.

Our team is looking for a talented and driven Business Intelligence Developer to enhance our capabilities. The ideal match for this role will own creating, evolving, and maintaining our BI tools. You will empower our business to make more informed decisions by leveraging advanced data analytics, compelling data visualization, and robust data modeling techniques. You will be instrumental in transforming data into insights that drive our business strategies and objectives.

The Power BI Developer plays an important role in the company.  First & foremost, we help the business succeed by delivering IT solutions that align with business requirements that drive tactical & strategic decisions.  This role partners with diverse business teams to understand & analyze the nature of a proposed business problem or project, defines how it relates to similar systems & processes within the BI environment & builds the end solution.  This can include the functional & technical specifications as well as the development, testing, training, & support of the solution.  Working within the BI team requires a well-rounded skillset to support the technologies, data & applications used in the BI space.  Key customers include Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Pricing, Finance, Mill Finance, Manufacturing Operations, Human Resources & Senior Leadership.   

Required Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, related technical field, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of IT Business Intelligence related experience
• 3-5+ years of development experience in Power BI platform tool suite 

Required Skills

• 5+ years of development experience with MS SQL Server object creation including T-SQL language
• 5+ years of development experience with at least two of the following: MS Power BI Service Data visualizations, MS SQL Server Reporting Services, MS SQL Server Analysis Services, IBM Cognos reports and package/data module development, ETL technologies (Informatica, Azure Data Factory)

Travel:10-25% 

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage solution development
• Utilize Billerud’s Project Delivery Process methodology and development standards
• Assist the business in developing and articulating the business requirements
• Formulate technical requirements from defined business requirements
• Identify technical options and develop / recommend proposed solutions
• Develop/Implement selected solutions
• Ensure the best return on IT investments
• Proactively evaluate application solutions for efficiency and propose new options and/or processes to streamline activities in the business
• Evaluate new versions of software and provide cost-benefit analysis and migration plan for upgrades
• Work independently or in a team while applying knowledge of multiple technologies and structured Design methodologies toward effective business solutions
• Manage the application lifecycle of IT solutions and processes with a focus on simplicity, reliability, performance, and commonality
• Interact with technical and business members as a subject matter expert in the understanding and use of the tools and data
• Support IT solution availability, reliability, and performance in a 24x7x365 environment
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI, SSAS, Cognos
• Develop and maintain company datasets from a wide range of sources
• Promote the growth and use of Power BI Service and the cloud platform
