This is a full-time co-op paid position is within our Manufacturing Applications, Reporting, and Analytics team for a duration of 7-8 months.  The co-op will interact with the other members of the applications team as well as business users to design, develop, configure, enhance, and support both new and existing applications and reporting systems.

 

Opportunities available in our mills in Escanaba and Quinnesec, MI

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support end users in the use of Billerud’s applications
  • Develop and enhance both new and existing applications and reports
  • Migration/conversion of existing applications, reports, and/or interfaces
  • Deliver projects as assigned
  • Development of application process maps and other procedural documentation
  • Research new technologies to solve business problems
  • Routine progress reports to IT leadership
  • Participate in IT cross-functional or project teams as needed
  • Complete university requirements for co-op program

 

Profile

Required Skills:

  • Skilled at using Microsoft Windows and Office Suite
  • Understanding of application development process
  • Understanding of database design and architecture
  • Commitment to working safely

 

Required Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in 4-year IT related degree (Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or equivalent)
  • Must have completed Sophomore year
  • Experience working on a team
  • Experience delivering projects
  • Strong communication skills and ability to read, write, understand, and follow technical documentation
  • Commitment to quality customer support
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to relate to all levels of the Billerud organization
  • Must demonstrate initiative and be self-motivated
    Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:

  • SQL Server Database technology experience
  • Visual Studio or similar development experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Programming experience in any language

Must be available to work either January-August or May-December
