Summary Description:
The purpose of this position is to meet or exceed Billerud North America’s targeted metrics including volume, mix, new business, pricing, demand forecasting and overall profitability at assigned packaging accounts, including corrugated converters, box plants and other packaging accounts. Primary sales efforts to focus upon building Billerud’s corrugated business, as well as other packaging grades as they are commercialized. Key relationships are expected to be established at all levels of the customer’s organization, including customer service, outside sales and sr management. The ability to sell Billerud’s value proposition is critical. Position requires strong hunting skills and a proven track record of successful new customer and new business development. Strategic market feedback is important. Candidate will need to develop productive internal working relationships across a broad base of functions. Experience and established contacts within the corrugated carton converting and/or broader packaging community is a requirement.
Incumbent will specialize in one of the following areas: direct sales to corrugated carton converters as well as other customers in the packaging segment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Achieve targeted volume, price, product mix and profit margin customer metrics
- Identify and establish critical individual customer relationships throughout existing customer organizations, driving growth to targeted levels.
- Identify and develop sales with new customers.
- Engage in collaborative selling to demonstrate the value of Billerud’s packaging products portfolio
- Develop and implement account plans including objectives, tactics, metrics, timing and communication
- Provide meaningful market/competitive intelligence gathered from customer discussions
- Work collaboratively within customer to help forecast their demand requirements in order to efficiently manage the supply chain.
- Understand competition’s marketing strategy and product positioning, make recommendations on appropriate Billerud actions.
- Effectively use internal reporting tools to evaluate and manage business
- Identify customer needs for potential tailored value proposition development
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Demonstrated B2B sales experience
Preferred Experience & Education
- Demonstrated sales experience in the corrugated carton/packaging industry
