Summary Description:

The Mill IT Applications Sr. Advisor serves as a senior technical resource and trusted business partner supporting critical manufacturing and mill applications. This position is responsible for the leadership, support, enhancement, and optimization of technology solutions that enable safe, reliable, and efficient mill operations.

The role collaborates closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Corporate IT teams to identify business needs, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and implement technology solutions that improve operational performance. As a recognized subject matter expert, the Sr. Advisor provides technical leadership for application support, system enhancements, integrations, and project execution while ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT standards.

 

Profile

Key Accountabilities:

· Serve as the primary subject matter expert for mill manufacturing applications, providing technical leadership, support, and continuous improvement of critical business systems.

· Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain leaders to identify business needs and develop technology solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.

· Lead application enhancements, upgrades, implementations, and integration projects, coordinating business stakeholders, vendors, and IT resources.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize processes, improve data quality, and increase system effectiveness across mill operations.

· Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution of complex application, system, and business process issues while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

· Support reporting, analytics, and data management capabilities that enable informed business decision-making and operational insights.

· Ensure supported applications comply with cybersecurity, governance, business continuity, and regulatory requirements.

· Develop and maintain application standards, documentation, support processes, and best practices while providing guidance to users and technical teams.

· Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that support manufacturing excellence and digital transformation initiatives.

· Act as a trusted advisor to mill leadership, leveraging technology to achieve business objectives and improve overall operational performance.

Required Experience and Education: Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience supporting business-critical applications in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading application enhancements, implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and manage cross-functional projects.
  • Experience serving as a technical resource and business partner for operational teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within pulp and paper, packaging, converting, or other process manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Quality Management Systems, Production Reporting Systems, CMMS, Process Historians, or related manufacturing applications.
  • Experience with ERP integrations and manufacturing data systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, SQL, or related reporting
